What drew you to read this book?:
I listened to an interview that Ps. Steven Furtick had with T.D. Jakes about his journey in business and the lessons he learned, and he mentioned this book a few times in the interview. I wanted to know what his ‘recipe’ was to SOAR!

As an entrepreneur for many years, this book gave me insight into my earlier business journey and confirmed why I made many mistakes and failed as a young businesswoman. This book gave me a new perspective and ignited the vision and dreams I have and guided me on how to strategically build on my vision to leave a legacy! I bought the book as a gift for my son and son-in-law! I want their business dreams to lift off, to fly, and SOAR!

THE ONE MINUTE PAUSE JOURNAL
AUTHOR: John Eldredge
Review done by Nicola Tapson
What drew you to read this book?:
I was first drawn to this book by the author, John Eldredge. I had heard a lot about his book for boys called "Wild at Heart". Secondly, life has felt very rushed at the moment and the idea of pausing even for a minute seemed impossible.

What impact did this book have on your life?:
As I read the introduction to the journal. The idea of being burn out and tired resonated with me and the more I read the more the practice of pausing for a minute or more became enticing and being filled again with God heavenly. And so, my slow journey to reconnect with God has begun.
What is the main point of the book?:
The main point of the journal is to re-introduce the one pause and benevolent detachment which John Eldredge speaks of in his book "Get your life back". This book encourages you to practice these ideas and grow a deeper connection with God.

Who would benefit from reading this book?:
You will benefit from reading this book if you feel detached from God. If you feel burned out, and don't know how to re-ignite your love for God.

THE 5 LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP
AUTHOR: John C. Maxwell
Review done by Carina Oelofsen
What drew you to read this book?:
I have always been drawn to John C. Maxwell’s wisdom and insight into leadership. Being a truly remarkable leader himself, who better to learn from about growth in leadership? His writing style, way of structuring, practical applications and anecdotes from his own life and those of others, provide a refreshing way to learn and grow in leadership.

What impact did this book have on your life?:
Having been in leadership positions for several years, I thought I really mastered this topic. However, this book pointed out so many blind spots in my leadership journey – as well as a reassurance of the things I have been doing well – and has given my insight into how I can grow into a better leader.
What is the main point of the book?:
Maxwell describes the various stages of leadership – starting with the lowest level, up to the pinnacle of leadership – by providing a detailed explanation of each. He also gives the Upside, Downside, Best Behaviours, and Laws of Leadership for each level. He teaches how to grow from each one to the next by providing Beliefs that help leaders move up to the next level, and by providing guidance to growing through each level. His aim is to maximise your potential as a leader.

This book will benefit anyone in any leadership role (from junior or supervisory to executive level), as well as those who want to move into a leadership space. This is a wonderful resource for personal growth as well as for growing your team.
